City of Kings Marathon Set for July 12 — Route Released

Organisers of the City of Kings Marathon have confirmed 12 July as the date for the 2026 edition. The full marathon route starts at Centenary Park, runs through the leafy suburbs of Hillside, Burnside and Kumalo, before looping back via the CBD to finish at the Bulawayo City Hall steps.

Last year’s event drew over 2,400 entrants, including elite runners from Kenya and Ethiopia and a large recreational field from across Zimbabwe and South Africa. The half-marathon and 10K options will run alongside the full event.

Registration opens 1 March via the City of Kings Marathon website. Early-bird fees start at $20 for the 10K. All finishers receive a custom-designed medal featuring the Matobo Hills.
