The Intwasa Arts Festival koBulawayo returns this September with what organisers say is the largest line-up since 2018. The 21st edition runs from 15 to 25 September at venues across the city, including the Bulawayo Theatre, Amakhosi Cultural Centre and Centenary Park.
Headline acts include jazz vocalist Dudu Manhenga, Afro-fusion band Mokoomba, and a much-anticipated tribute concert to the late Lovemore Majaivana. Theatre programming features new work from Amakhosi, Iyasa and a debut piece by a Khayelitsha-Bulawayo collaboration.
Director Raisedon Baya said this year’s theme — “Homecoming” — was a direct nod to diaspora artists returning to perform in their home city for the first time in years. Daily passes from $5. Festival passes from $40.
Event details: 15-25 September. Multiple venues. Tickets via the Intwasa website or at the door.
